First
and foremost, I'd like to wish you a holiday season full of happiness
and cheer. Its such a wonderful time to celebrate all of the
gifts that life brings to us each and every day. For starters,
I'd like to personally thank you once again for being a part of this
newsletter and for all of
the wonderful feedback you've provided since the inaugural publication.
The positive responses that I have received are a true
recognition of the value of this work and for this I am grateful.
As you know, this newsletter is dedicated towards designing and maintaining a healthy, balanced
and fulfilling lifestyle. Whether we are in the best physical
condition of our life, or have been challenged by the diagnosis of
a serious medical condition, we all have an opportunity to be present
to our 'wellness profile'. As seen in the diagram to the right,
there are three components of wellness. These range from physical
to spiritual to financial wellness. Today's guest writer, Andria
Michelle Wood, focuses on the aspect of financial wellness. She
provides a terrific exercise that I would encourage anyone to
participate in that is looking to improve their state of financial
wellness.
As many of you know, improving our state of
wellness begins with a thought, however matriculates when action takes
place. Whether it is beginning a new exercise routine or
treatment protocol, volunteering time to a meaningful cause, or
demonstrating your value to an employer, the key is to take
action-actions that are aligned with the fundamental principles that
guide you as a unique person. This is the foundation of living a
healthy, balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Article: Your salary is determined by you!
I invite you to take a few deep breaths; gently; all the way into your
lower abdomen; allow the breath to move slowly and quietly in order to
calm you.
Although the headline was meant to provoke you, this article intends to
bring into your awareness just how powerful you really are. Grab a pen
and paper and we’ll have some fun.
First, allow your eyes to soften as you breathe deeply. You can still
see the screen, you may just feel more focused and centered. I’ll
ask you a series of questions: each time I’ll ask you to close
your eyes in order to bring an answer into your awareness; please
notice any feelings you have and then open your eyes and write down
what you noticed.
Focus on your current annual income. (If you are self-employed,
consider using your 2005 taxes.) With your eyes still softly focused,
write this number down on your paper. Allow your eyes to close and
notice any feelings associated with this number. When you are ready,
open your eyes and write down any feelings you noticed.
Do this same process (close eyes, focus on salary, notice feelings,
open eyes, write down experience) with the following annual incomes:
- $10,000 (Any feelings?)
- $30,000 (What are people saying about you or to you?)
- $60,000 (How do your muscles feel?)
- $100,000 (What are you feeling now? Has it changed?)
- $130,000 (What are you saying about yourself?)
- $210,000 (How are you breathing?))
- $450,000 (Do people in your field make this much in a year? Can you?)
- $600,000 (What are you muscles doing?)
- $1,000,000 (What are you saying to yourself?)
- $2,000,000 (Do you want this much a year?)
- $5,000,000 (Do you need this much?)
Relax. Just allow that process to leave you now. Create an experience
of all those numbers just floating away, melting or dissipating. Allow
your eyes to remain soft as you focus on the screen.
Take a moment to review your notes. What do you notice? Any trends?
These notes are a personal treasure map to your wealth consciousness
goldmine. You have taken the first step in uncovering why you have the
salary you do, so celebrate!
Where do you go with this goldmine or treasure map? Perhaps it’s time to create a wealth team…
1. You could find a great financial coach. I highly recommend Doug Nau!

2. If you find yourself overcome by limiting beliefs, fears or
emotional issues that reach beyond the scope of a coach, find a
Certified Hypnotherapist or other practitioner skilled in transforming
negative beliefs and behaviors into supportive beliefs and behaviors.
As you get yourself emotionally and mentally on track, you’ll add
more members to your team such as tax accountants (keep more money),
financial planners (make more money) and estate attorneys (protect your
money).
Treat your wealth like your health – build a team of wealth-care practitioners that support you towards success.
Just remember: you determine your salary; if you don’t like it, it’s time to create change.
