Volume 1, Issue #7:  Hearing about The Secret?  Part 2

Today's Article: Hearing about The Secret?  Part 2

Last month I provided an example of how The Law of Attraction has worked in my life.  Today's discussion focuses on how you can put The Law of Attraction to work in your own life.  To review, this law states that
we attract what we focus our attention and feelings on.  If we accept the principles of this law, then we may be attracting either the positive, neutral, or negative into our lives.  With this law it would follow that typically life will bring 'more of the same' without a conscious intervention; so how does one change a pattern in life?  The answer to this is simpler than you might think.

Regardless of what has happened up until now, we all have the capacity to dream, to connect with our delights, and to generate positive thoughts or memories.  If we choose (ie: we consciously make a decision to), we can generate a positive thought, experience, or even reality in any moment.  The caviat is that this is a choice we consciously make and far too often its more convenient to allow for 'more of the same'.  The question is a legitimate one - do we really and truly want the convenience of what life currently is (is the convenience serving you?), or do we want long lasting and memorable change which will require for us to step outside our comfort zone.  Only you can answer this question for yourself - and it is not always an easy question to answer truthfully.

If the answer is that you would like to attract something new into your life (whether it pertains to finances, relationships, or personal fulfillment), then read on.  First and foremost, recognizing our desires and deciding that you are willing to act on them is a heroic step.  This recognition is the first step in attracting your desires.

The second step is very simple.  Become clear on what it is that you desire.  How will life look in one year, in five years?  The simple act of taking a couple of hours to develop your vision statement can change your life forever. See the link provided for a full guideline on how to develop an empowering vision for yourself.  

The actions above are significant.  Attracting the positive in life is as simple as 1) deciding that you are ready to make change and 2) becoming clear on what it is you'd like to attract in life and 3) taking action.  As you see the model is simple and can be done with ease - and will require work.  To gauge where you are today ask yourself the following questions:

*Am I willing to step outside of my comfort zone to create change?
*Am I clear for what it is that I desire the most in life?
*How are my actions currently demonstrating what my desires are?

Recognize that though these questions are simple - they are at the same time very big!  They represent a different pattern of thought, a new way to approach a life that you have already 'grown comfortable with'.  Making your dreams a reality is as simple as deciding to do it, and shifting your experience to how it is you'd like life to be.

*Write down what you'd like to attract - you do not need to know how it will happen, just write it down, focus your energy on it and see what opportunities arise over the next thirty days.
